A NEW group aimed at promoting the economy of East Hampshire is looking for a leader.

Business EastHants is seeking someone from the private sector to take up the position.

The group, backed by East Hampshire District Council, hopes to identify business needs and develop economic growth and prosperity in the district.

It will also serve as a voice for the business community, enabling them to take action together, and will provide an avenue for exchanging ideas.

Council officials said the ideal candidate will be someone with extensive experience in the local business community with leadership, strategic thinking, communications, entrepreneurial and business skills of the highest order.

It will be an unpaid role of between two and three days per month.

Interested candidates are asked to send their CV to by August 4.
