New machine is brought in by council to fill potholes

AN INNOVATIVE machine called a Roadmaster has been helping eradicate potholes.

Rob Humby, executive member for transport at Hampshire County Council, went to see the Roadmaster in action during its trial run this week. He said: ‘Hampshire is one of the best performing councils when it comes to highways maintenance. We’re working hard to keep it that way.’

The Roadmaster is operated by one person, and completes the average repair in a short period of time. This means that hundreds of metres of patching can be carried out in one shift.
