A SOLICITOR at Blake Lapthorn in Portsmouth has become a panel deputy, meaning she can act on behalf of those who are unable to manage their affairs and have no friends or relatives to take over.

Rachel Brooks, head of the firm’s private client department, is one of only 60 panel deputies in the UK.

She said: ‘I am delighted to have been appointed as a panel deputy and this appointment recognises the experience that Blake Lapthorn has in dealing with this important and sensitive area of the law.’
