The UK’s oldest and largest sail training charity for young people has signed a new three-year lease on a storage unit in Havant.

The Tall Ships Youth Trust has taken the last remaining unit at The Tanneries in Brockhampton Lane to keep all its sails in one place over the winter months or when not in use.

Tim Law, Tall Ships’ marketing and operations director, said: ‘It’s great to be able to consolidate all our storage into one single unit.

‘The size and the location of The Tanneries is ideal for us.’

The trust, which is based at The Hard, takes more than 3,000 individuals to sea a year and 75 per cent of young people aged 12 to 25 are disadvantaged and disabled.
