WINTER has come early to Southampton Airport, as it has launched a new ski route.

The airport put on a winter-themed event during the height of summer to mark the introduction of the Innsbruck flights, chartered by Inghams.

The route will take travellers right into the heart of the Tirol region every Saturday from December 21.

Dave Lees, Southampton Airport managing director said: ‘The new Innsbruck ski route is great news for the airport and ski passengers from Southampton.

‘Innsbruck is a fantastic addition for our winter ski programme, providing even more choice and opportunity for customers wanting to get on the slopes quickly and easily – direct from Southampton.

‘We’re delighted to be working with Inghams on this new route and we’re looking forward to working together to deliver a great winter for our customers.’
