YOUNGSTERS in Portsmouth can take inspiration from a free business event being held in the city today.

The Opportunities Fair will be hosted at the Guildhall today, and is aimed at children aged 10 to 13, giving them insight into what it would be like to work for employers in the area.

The event involves hands-on activities, competitions and talking to professionals.

Cllr Donna Jones, leader of Portsmouth City Council, said: ‘The fair is all about inspiring children and encouraging them to set their goals high.

‘We want Portsmouth children to grow up and work in exciting jobs, especially in science and engineering, and play their part in the development of the city.’

The Opportunities Fair takes place from 10am to 3pm. For more information visit oppsfair.com.
