Opticians in Havant and Waterlooville support National Storytelling Week

HAVANT and Waterlooville opticians are supporting children during National Storytelling Week.

Following a study by the Office for National Statistics, which showed millions of UK children under the age of 12 have never had an eye test, the Specsavers stores are encouraging parents to book their child a sight test during the awareness week – which runs until February 6 – so they can continue reading with ease.

Throughout the week, the stores will also be collecting donations for Naomi’s House children’s hospice, which cares for life-limited children.

Bill Vance, store director, said: ‘Children should have eye tests once every two years so that any problems can be detected early.

‘National Storytelling Week is all about encouraging people to read, so we’d like to ensure that everyone can enjoy their favourite books with clear vision.’

To book an eye test, visit Specsavers Havant, in West Street, or Waterlooville, in London Road.
