THE number of people claiming Jobseekers allowance has fallen again as more people get back into work.
Figures from the Office of National Statistics (ONS)show that 2,065 people claimed the allowance in October, down from 2,125 in September.

Lynne Grimes is the operations manager for Greater Wessex at Job Centre Plus.
She said: ‘It’s absolutely brilliant.
‘It totally mirrors the national picture with employment rates rising and female employment going up.
‘The proportion of people leaving full time employment and going to work has gone up too.
‘The job market is very buoyant.
‘There is a lot of work out there.
‘A lot of the vacancies on offer are above the national minimum wage.’
And Ms Grimes said she thinks things will only get better.
‘It’s looking good probably for the next couple of months,’ she said.
‘Generally, in January the claim count goes up because people are taken on for seasonal work and are then out of work.
‘The only thing I would say for people who are in the labour market, when you look at those who are out of work for longer, it’s those who lack digital skills.
‘People need to keep abreast of the digital changes now.’
Priti Patel is the employment minister.
Speaking of the picture across the south east, she said: ‘Employment is at a record breaking high, and wages have continued to grow strongly, demonstrating that this government is delivering for hardworking people.
‘The south east has one of the highest employment rates in the country at 77.2 per cent.
‘But this growth is only one part of the story, because our one nation approach involves a commitment to provide opportunity and security for everyone across the country.’
