Peacocks commits to Gosport

VALUE retail chain Peacocks has committed to Gosport and has taken out a new 10-year lease on its current premises.

At the same time, the 9,700sq ft unit at 63-64 High Street has been acquired as part of a portfolio by a private investor for in excess of £600,000.

This transaction adds to an existing portfolio of local properties including 62 High Street, Gosport.

The sale and letting were managed by Tom Holloway, director of Hampshire agent Holloway, Iliffe & Mitchell.

He said: ‘Gosport High Street has seen activity recover over the last year and as a result availability has reduced.

‘It is good news for the town that Peacocks has committed to staying for another 10 years.

‘The property’s new owners already hold other investments in Gosport including the adjacent units, and in a market where quality investments are increasingly difficult to find, were quick to acquire this site in an off-market deal.’
