PEOPLE who are passionate about local produce are needed for an innovate project.
Chichester District Council is on the hunt for someone to take on the lease for the cathedral city’s first high street store dedicated to selling local produce.
The shop will be at 29a South Street.
The closing date for applications is October 21.
The scheme, thought to be the first of its kind in the country, has been introduced by Chichester District Council and West Sussex County Council to support local businesses.
To help kick-start the new business, West Sussex County Council is investing £70,000 of funding to fit out the shop.
An additional £5,000 is available to local producers, who require help in supplying the shop.
Councillor Myles Cullen, in charge of economy in Chichester, says: ‘Our area has some of the best local produce in the country and we should be celebrating and promoting this.’
