Highways England has issued a list of planned roadworks in central southern England in the week starting Monday April 4

M3 junctions 2 (M25) to 4a Farnborough, Hampshire: smart motorway improvement

Work to reduce congestion and improve journey times continues this week with narrow lanes, a contraflow and a 50mph speed limit in place on both carriageways between junctions 2 and 4a, with a free recovery service operating 24 hours a day until the end of 2016.

The southbound carriageway between junctions 2 and 4 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Monday 4 April for six nights. On Friday and Saturday work will take place between 8pm and 7am. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the M25 junction 13 and the A30.

The northbound carriageway between junctions 4 and 3 will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Monday 4 April for six nights. On Friday and Saturday work will take place between 8pm and. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A331 and A30.

The M25 clockwise link road to M3 northbound will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Monday 4 for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A30.

The northbound and southbound entry slip roads at junction 4a will be closed overnight, between 8pm and 5.30am, on Monday 4 April for two nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A30.

M3 junctions 9 to 12 slip roads, Hampshire: slip road marking renewal

Work to improve safety on slip roads in Hampshire by renewing the white lines will take place this week. Slip roads will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, as follows:

Monday 4 April: junction 9 southbound entry slip road and junction 11 southbound exit slip road

Work to improve safety by carrying out repairs to the safety barrier will start this week. Mobile lane closures will be in place on both the east and westbound carriageways overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Wednesday 6 April for 6 nights (Monday to Friday only).

M4 junctions 8/9 Maidenhead to 10 Wokingham, Berkshire: communications

Work to improve journeys by maintaining the traffic flow sensors will take place this week. Lane 3 on the westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Thursday 7 and Friday 8 April.

Work to improve journeys by carrying out vegetation clearance will take place this week. Lane 1 of the westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, on Monday 4 and Tuesday 5 April.

M27 junction 5 Eastleigh, Hampshire: anti-skid surfacing

Work to improve road user safety will take place this week along the M27. The westbound exit slip road will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Thursday 7 April for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via junction 3.

The eastbound carriageway between Eastern Road and Broadmarsh will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Tuesday 5 April for 2 nights. Clearly signed diversions will be in place via the A2030.

A3 Liphook to Berelands, Hampshire: carriageway resurfacing

Work to improve safety along the A3 in Hampshire will finish this week. The southbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 4 April for 2 nights. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A31 and A325.

A31 Bere Regis to Red Post, Dorset: drainage maintenance

Work to improve journeys by carrying out drainage maintenance along the A31 in Dorset continues this week. The A31 will be closed in both directions overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 4 April until mid-April (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place from the Roundhouse roundabout via the A350 and A35. Access will be maintained for residents living within the closure and managed locally on site.

A31 Ringwood to Cadnam, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve safety starts this week. The eastbound carriageway between Ringwood and Cadnam will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, from Monday 4 April for 15 nights (Monday to Friday only). A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A338 and A35.

A34 Chilton interchange, Oxfordshire: junction improvement

Work to improve journey times and safety by constructing new slip roads and improving the layout of the Chilton interchange continues this week. The northbound exit slip road at the junction will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until late spring (Monday to Friday only). Work is due to be completed in summer 2016.

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of the junction, repairing damaged signs and clearing vegetation to improve sight-lines for drivers at the Bullington Cross junction takes place this week. Varied slip road closures will be in place overnight, between 9pm and 6am, from Monday 4 April for 5 nights. In addition, there will be temporary traffic lights in place on the A30 link overnight on Monday 4 April. Clearly signed diversions will be in place using the next available junction for the slip road closures.

Work to maintain journeys by replacing bridge joints near Kidlington/Water Eaton will finish this week. The northbound carriageway between the A44 Peartree interchange and Kidlington junction will be closed overnight, between 10pm and 6am, until Wednesday 6 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via Kidlington.

Work to improve safety by carrying out vegetation clearance to improve site-lines along the A303 will be completed this week. One lane on the westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Tuesday 5 April.

A303 Thruxton, Hampshire: resurfacing

Work to improve journeys by resurfacing sections of both carriageways near Thruxton completes this week. The westbound carriageway will be closed overnight, between 9pm and 6am, until Friday 8 April. A clearly signed diversion will be in place via the A338, Ludgershall and A342 Andover Road.
