YOUNG entrepreneurs are getting a kick-start in business, with the help of the Pompey Sports and Education Foundation.

The club’s charitable arm has joined up with Start Up Link, which gives enterprise support, to host events designed to encourage new business and self-employment.

The event will be held at Fratton Park on July 19 and 20.

It will provide anyone aged over 16 with all the necessary information and confidence to start up on their own.

Craig Pearce, from the foundation, said: ‘Pompey Sports and Education Foundation are delighted to be involved in Kick Off in Business.

‘We have a real commitment to develop our community which our club serves and this is an ideal way to encourage business and prosperity in our area.

‘We already offer a range of educational and apprenticeship opportunities for young people through our foundation, and Kick Off in Business will see us develop this offer to those who have an interest in running their own business.’

Ken Horn from Start Up Link added: ‘There is very little in the way of field-based start-up support available.

‘Local people and economies need a reliable source for qualified and accredited business start-up and enterprise advice.’
