The Blues have not been able to sell tickets or send emails since Sunday following the issues with the telephone and broadband company.

Tickets sales from the ticket office were supposed to resume on Wednesday but the connectivity fault prevented that.

It was then hoped tickets would be able to be sold yesterday. However, the ticket office remained closed as of yesterday.

A spokesman for Pompey said: ‘We regret to announce the ticket office will not be able to re-open as planned.

‘A technical fault with the BT fibre connection into the club meant that season ticket sales were unable to resume on Wednesday as initially planned. We are working with BT to get this problem fixed and are waiting to hear when it will be resolved.

‘Fans are reminded that this is a problem at BT’s end and is completely out of our control.

‘We apologise for the ongoing inconvenience and will update fans when we have more information.’

He added: ‘The problem is not as straightforward as BT thinks.

‘We have a number of systems which have technical problems which have not been looked at yet.

‘BT said once the broadband is back up, they can look at the other technical issues.

‘Hopefully that will be this morning. But we don’t know when everything will be back up and running.’

A spokesman for BT said they have been working on the problems.

‘We are sorry for the problems experienced,’ he said.

‘We have been working on this and have been in contact with the customer as we believe that the broadband should now be working, but will need at reboot at the customer end to check.’

As previously reported in The News long queues formed outside Fratton Park on the first day of sales for season tickets. Around 1,000 tickets were sold which chief executive Mark Catlin called ‘incredible’.

Fans renewing their season tickets have been told by the club to call Quaytickets on 0333 320 0750.
