Portchester care service rated good by CQCÂ

A SERVICE caring for people with learning disabilities has retained its Good rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Murrills House, in Portchester, was given the rating following an inspection in July by the health watchdog.

In its report, published this week, the inspector found people received a safe service and staff knew how to care for service users.

It added: '˜Staff spoke warmly of the people they cared for and were readily able to explain people's care needs and individual personalities.

'˜One to one support was provided to people and as a result staff knew them very well and had developed positive relationships. We observed caring and respectful interactions from staff.

'˜Promoting people's independence was an integral part of the service. People were supported appropriately to set goals and achieve them.'

Murrills House, on East Street, was rated good for being well-led, safe, caring, effective and responsive.
