Millions of unseen naval artefacts to star in new Portsmouth museum

PORTCHESTER Castle will be recreated in miniature – using Lego bricks.

The scale model display at Westbury Manor Museum in Fareham will be on show from March 28 to June 9.

It comes as Hampshire County Council partners with Southampton City Council and Winchester City Council, with support from the Arts Council, to put on a Lego Trail event.

A number of other models will be on display further afield in Basingstoke and Southampton for the trail.

Talented model-makers who want to have their own work showcased at one of the trail venues can enter an online competition.

There are two categories, one for those aged under 12 and for those aged 13 or older.

Take a photo of your favourite Lego model and submit it to hants.gov.uk/legomaniatrail before April 12.

Executive Member for Culture and Recreation, Councillor Keith Chapman, said: ‘This is a fun way of engaging with the County’s rich heritage and museums and I hope many people will visit.’
