Portsmouth kebab shop reopens after a fire left it closed for seven months

Pompey Pizza and Kebab in Kingston Road, Buckland, reopened on Monday, March 2 after being closed for seven months after a fire ripped through the rear of the building on July 24 2019, destroying the interior.
Director and the son of the shop’s owner, Abtul Yalcin, said: ‘The last seven months have been bad. We have lost customers we have lost nearly everything.

‘Hopefully now that we have opened we’re going to try and spread the word.
‘Everything was trashed when it happened so we have replaced everything.
‘We’re excited (to be opening), it’s good, we’re happy, who wouldn’t be after being shut for seven months.

The shop has been completely renovated, with both floors being refurbished and new fridges, tiling and windows.
Staff offered 15 per cent off all orders on the opening day to celebrate.
