Regulars were stunned after The Old House at Home, in Locksway Road, Milton, Portsmouth, closed after former landlord Steve Lant declared himself bankrupt.

But the popular local has made a comeback after being taken over by entrepreneur Steve Hudson – who has also snapped up The Invincible in Portsea to add to his pub portfolio.

On Saturday, The Old House at Home will mark its comeback with a party and music from Kojak’s Revenge.

Steve (pictured) said he was delighted about taking on the pub alongside the other pubs he already manages – which also include The Shepherd’s Crook in Goldsmith Avenue.

He said: ‘We like the pub, we love the fact it’s got a great garden and we think it’s in a great area.’

Kojak’s Revenge pride themselves on their stage shows which have been described as ‘breathtaking, electric and spellbinding’.

The band are known for performing an array of music from ’60s to punk and Britpop, and they also add in some more current songs to their set.

The pub is hoping for a grand celebration and the occasion will also tie in with its St George’s Day commemorations.

Steve said: ‘We’re like everyone else in that we all celebrate St Patrick’s Day and what have you but no-one really celebrates St Georges Day. Now we really want to have a big celebration.’

Doors will open at 7pm and tickets cost £4 in advance from The Milton Arms, in Milton Road, The Shepherds Crook or The Old House at Home.

Alternatively, they can be purchased for £5 on the door on the night.
