THE Spinnaker Tower, Portsmouth Cycle Exchange and the Guildhall Café are just some of the businesses

which have signed up to take part in the first ever Portsmouth Shopping Festival.

More than 20 shops and services have signed up to take part in the festival which has been marketed as far as the United States of America and Dubai.

The festival will run from September 12 to September 28 and organisers hope the event will attract more people into the city. Also taking part will be the Bridge Tavern in Old Portsmouth and restaurants in Albert Road, Southsea including Akash, Nicholson’s and El Nico.

Venues planning to run special events to coincide with the festival include the Kings Theatre, Wedgewood Rooms, New Theatre Royal and Portsmouth Guildhall.

There will also be street markets and live entertainment in Guildhall Square to entertain shoppers and a raffle will also take place.
