Access Self Storage Portsmouth is launching its Easter chocolate egg campaign, where staff hope to fill a storage room with chocolate eggs of all shapes and sizes to donate to the Rowans Hospice in Waterlooville.

People are invited to bring in donations into the store on Herbert street any time before March 26, when a delivery will be made to Rowans Hospice.

Rowans Hospice is a local charity which offers support to people living with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers in Portsmouth and South-East Hampshire.

This year, proceeds from the store’s local collection will once again benefit its nominated charity, Rowans Hospice – and the team want to make sure that this year’s egg haul is the best yet.

More than 3,800 chocolate eggs have been collected since the very first Access Self Storage Easter Egg Appeal in 2011 – weighing in at more than a ton of chocolate - with more than 150 collected by Access Self Storage Portsmouth last year alone.

Store manager Philip Hall said: ‘We’ve worked to support Rowans Hospice for years, because we really believe in the amazing work they do.

‘Our community donated a staggering 152 eggs last year so they have really raised the bar, it would be amazing to smash this target in 2018 and make this the best possible Easter for residents of Rowans Hospice who really do appreciate every act of kindness.’

Staff have already begun collecting eggs and people are invited to bring donations into the store on Herbert Street any time before March 26, when a delivery will be made to Rowans Hospice.

In 2017, the 900+ chocolate eggs collected by Access Self Storage were shared among 10 charities across the UK including The Children’s Trust, Rennie Grove Hospice, Evelina London, The Children’s Adventure Farm Trust and The Salvation Army.

The most generous regions donating to the Easter Egg Appeal were Camberley with a record 160 eggs and Portsmouth close behind with 152.
