CHANGES to a post office’s service in a village are being consulted on.

The Post Office is asking opinions on introducing a new ‘hosted outreach service’ at 20b High Street in Southwick.

This service would see a subpostmaster provide a service at set times each week, operated by the postmaster from Bedhampton Post Office, who currently operates a service in Southwick on a temporary basis.

The proposal is for this to be a permanent arrangement to bring stability to the branch.

The opening times of the service would change to Monday and Thursday between 10am and 2pm. The same range of services will continue to be available.

Robert Worley, from the Post Office, said: ‘We understand how important having a post office is to residents in Southwick and we are confident that this new service will meet the needs of the local community and secure services for the future.’

To take part in the consultation e-mail or call 08457 223344, closing date May 22.
