A POWER cut has been affecting shops in the centre of Waterlooville.

Around 40 premises lost power at about 10am today.

The power cut is affecting shops on one side of London Road only, close to Poundland.

A spokesman for Southern Electric said: ‘The engineers are on site at the moment.

‘The power went off a couple of minutes after 10am and the engineers were on site at 10.10am.

‘It has been caused by a fault in the underground cable network.

‘We are doing everything we can to get supplies back on.’
