Princess Yachts will display project at marina show

THE first model to be built by Princess Yachts International will be on display at a boat show later this month.

The British Motor Yacht Show, run by Premier Marinas, is taking place at Swanwick Marina from 10.30am until 5.30pm from May 19 until 21.

The Princess brand debuted Project 31 at last year’s London Boat Show — following a restoration project in celebration of the company’s 50th anniversary.

Over the years several modifications and upgrades have been made to the 31ft cruiser, however key features have been lovingly restored to pay tribute to Princess’s 1965 original launch specification, including the original Volvo Penta control panel, which has been given a modern automation system.

The living space has also been upgraded with modern materials and detail-oriented craftsmanship – from hand-turned polished stainless-steel door knobs and bathroom accessories to hand-sewn upholstery and 1960s inspired fluting and embroidery completing the finish.

Lizzie Mitchell, marketing executive at Premier Marinas, said: ‘Now in its fifth year the British Motor Yacht Show has gained a reputation for presenting a world-class line-up of British luxury motor yachts in a sophisticated laid-back atmosphere. Visitors will also get to see a world first new Princess at the show, a superb range of brand new Sunseekers and a sneak preview of a long-awaited new Fairline that will be launched at Cannes.’
