MAJOR disruption could be on the cards next month if a planned railway workers’ strike goes ahead.

Railway conductors from Southern Railway – which operates through Portsmouth and Havant – could go on strike over concerns about staff shortages.

The RMT union is preparing to ballot nearly 400 conductors on industrial action. Southern said every effort was being made to resolve the issue.
