A PORTSMOUTH brewery is urging more people to attend an annual beer festival.

Malcolm Irving, owner of Irving and Co Brewing, in Drayton, is suppling his beers for The Gosport Winter Beer Festival, which is happening from February 22 to 23.

Malcolm says he goes to the event, which is in its 21st year, most years and has a fantastic time.

Irving won beer of the festival in 2008 with its Irving Invincible and best bitter with Irving Frigate the same year.

Malcolm said: ‘At this time of year there’s often not much else to do. It’s a great chance to try out different beers and enjoy yourself while listening to great music.’

This year’s event will be held at Thorngate Halls, in Gosport. There will be live music and a merchandise stand.
