RECRUITMENT specialist Matchtech Group, which has its national headquarters in Fareham, has posted increased revenues in its half-yearly report.

Profits are down for the company at £2.3m, compared to £4.4m last year, but that represents an increase in staffing and an investment in diversification, both geographically and by specialism, the company says.

Share dividends have remained steady at 5p.

Group chairman George Materna said: ‘We have continued to invest in our core technical business and growth in certain sectors is strong, especially information systems and technology.

‘As we reported in February, the recruitment phase and the establishment of the new staff within the professional services marketplace took longer than expected.

‘Whilst the momentum in these businesses has been slower than anticipated in converting to results, the pipeline of new business is increasing as the brands become more establishing and we have seen growth in both the new professional services brands and in our new German operation.’
