And it’s not just the businesses that can get some well-deserved recognition. Hard-working employees can win accolades in the Team Member and Manager of the Year categories.

Mark Waldron, editor of The News, said: ‘We do whatever we can to support our retailers and leisure businesses – whether they are large national companies or small start-up independents, they are all part of our vibrant community.

‘I am especially pleased to see these awards return bigger and better and to be recognising some of the employees who make these companies what they are.’

The awards are being supported by Cascades Shopping Centre, Fareham Shopping Centre, Gunwharf Quays, Meridian Shopping Centre and Whiteley Shopping Centre.

Whiteley Shopping Centre manager Neil Carter said: ‘We are delighted to sponsor the awards after sponsoring the hugely successful first awards in 2015.

‘We are looking forward to even more entries as the annual event becomes firmly established in the retail and leisure calendar.’
