The return of the Boat Jumble at Haslar Marina
Following the success of the 2015 Gosport Boat Jumble, which saw the return of the much-loved event after an absence of more than 10 years, Gosport Marine Scene has announced the date for this year.
The 2016 Boat Jumble will take place on Sunday, February 21.
With the support of Gosport Borough Council, Gosport Marine Scene has once again partnered with Chaddock and Fox Promotions, who manage boat jumble events around the country.
Haslar Marina has donated the use of its car park for the event, which last year attracted more than 100 stall holders and traders, and welcomed thousands of visitors.
Councillor Kieth Farr, Mayor of Gosport, said: ‘The Boat Jumble is brilliant for Gosport.
‘We have a lot of yachtsman based here and the event gets people from all over the country to visit the town as well.’
Caroline Dinenage, Gosport MP, said: ‘Last year’s Marine Jumble at Haslar was a huge success.
‘We had a great turnout, glorious weather and I know local boat enthusiasts got some great deals at the stalls buying and selling nautical equipment.
‘I very much look forward to this year’s event and I hope that it follows in last year’s footsteps as a great day for Gosport’s maritime community.’
This year, Gosport Marine Scene is offering a limited number of free pitches to local sailing and marine charities and organisations to help support interaction with the local community.
The Boat Jumble is the ideal opportunity for anyone looking to move on their second-hand sailing gear, or any local businesses looking to introduce a new product or service, or if you are seeking to promote your club membership
Bookings for the event are now being taken.
The event starts at 10am at Haslar Marina. Entry is £4 and accompanied children go free.
Application forms for a stand or car boot pitch are available on the Gosport Marine Scene website.
