Rust-oleum to build DIY culture of upcycling with bank holiday roadshow

A PAINT manufacturer is hitting the road to promote the '˜big trend' of upcycling items around the home.

Rust-oleum will be giving out tips and tricks on furniture painting and transforming household goods on August 27 and 28.

Organised as part of Homebase’s Family Fun Day, the roadshow will stop off at branches of the home and garden retailer in Portsmouth, Fareham and Chichester.

As well as workshops and demonstrations, Homebase will host family-friendly activities and giveaways.

Paul Waller, marketing director of Rust-oleum, says the workshops will give people of all DIY abilities the ‘product knowledge they need to feel confident’ in upcycling.

He said: ‘Our roadshow will show people how easy it is to give tired and lacklustre interior pieces a new lease of life.’

‘Upcycling is such a big trend these days and shoppers are much more savvy about their spending habits for the home – turning to DIY and décor hacks to revamp rooms instead of investing a fortune on new items.’
