SOUTH coast law firm Trethowans has released a guide on how to have a safe but fun Christmas party.

Employment partner Simon Rhodes said businesses must be careful without taking the fun out of the event.

The guide consists of eight points and advises that a relaxed dress code should be imposed, photo booths are a good idea but should be manned to avoid any ‘stripping off’ and transport should be offered to get people home safely.

Simon said: ‘It’s far too easy to pour icy water on what should be a good night out by producing a rigid list of ‘Dos and Don’ts’.

‘All it takes is an understanding of the law and some careful planning to ensure all has a great time in a safe environment. That’s why we’ve put out our simple guide to having a great office party.’
