Salon holds successful fundraiser for hospice

A Gosport salon raised just over £700 in a recent fundraiser for Countess Mountbatten Hospice Charity.

Hair@55, on Carisbrooke Road, raised £703.11 with a bake sale, raffle and auction for a signed Pompey football.

Barber Rachel Johansson organised the event in memory of her aunt Jackie Gregory, who sadly lost her battle with cancer in November last year.

She said: ‘The Countess Mountbatten staff made her last days as comfortable as possible and really supported us as a family.

‘I would like to thank everyone who got involved and donated not only money and lovely gifts, but also those who took time out to make cakes and rallied around to make such a successful event.

‘Thank you to Morgan Sheldon for holding the event at the Hair@55 salon and a special thanks to the Co-op, Carisbrooke Tesco, The Old Fire Station Surgery, X-tend With Style Fareham, Jack Whatmough and Portsmouth Football Club.

‘I would also like to thank my friends, family and work colleagues.’
