TWO new grant schemes have been launched to help support business start-ups and assist long-term job-seekers.

Winchester City Council, which covers Denmead, Bishop’s Waltham and Wickham, has launched the pilot schemes in a bid to stimulate growth across the district during the economic downturn.

Cllr Robert Humby, deputy leader of the council, said: ‘These two new grant schemes, as well as our existing grant schemes, show this administration is committed to supporting the local economy.’
