To mark the official opening of its new branch in Portsmouth on September 22, Selco Builders Warehouse is searching for three ‘stars’ to each receive a £1,000 windfall for their organisation.

The scheme is called ‘Selco Stars’ and invites individuals from charities and community groups around the city to explain in no more than 100 words how the £1,000 would benefit the organisation.

The 44th Selco branch in the UK will be located on Northarbour Road, off the A27 and will create 50 jobs in the process.

Rob Thorpe, branch manager, said: ‘We are delighted to mark the arrival of Selco in the city by providing this fantastic opportunity for charities and community groups in the area.

‘So many organisations do such fantastic community work in and around Portsmouth and we are very proud to be able to give them the chance to win a sum of money which will make a real difference.’

Selco’s Portsmouth branch will offer an extensive selection of building materials including drainage, roofing, heating, plumbing and electrical products.

Portsmouth will also be home to Selco’s new online offering, Click and Collect, which allows customers to order online and collect in store.
