FINANCE chiefs of larger companies in and around Portsmouth have a chance to get the lowdown on sweeping accounting changes which take effect from January 2015.

The south coast office of accountancy and financial management group Smith & Williamson is holding a free seminar on the long-awaited FRS102 – the new Financial Reporting Standard which will standardise accounting practices in the UK and Northern Ireland.

The event will take place at the Ageas Bowl, Hedge End, on July 2 from 8am until 10am.

Andrew Edmonds, head of the office’s assurance and business services, said: ‘Although 2015 seems a long way off, FRS102 requirements means finance chiefs should be thinking about planning and preparing for this sweeping change now.’
