Teleplan, in Langstone Technology Park, Havant, is one of only two SMEs in the area to be awarded the Workplace Wellbeing Award.

The award is presented to organisations that show, by way of assessment, their commitment to employees’ health and well-being in the workplace by providing guidance and signposting that allows employees to make informed lifestyle choices.

Portsmouth City Council has been supporting organisations in the PO1 to PO6 areas and organisations with employees in those areas, such as Teleplan, to gain the accreditation.

Victoria Gardner, the company’s UK human resources advisor, said: ‘Although we are an SME in Hampshire, as a global company we promote well-being in all of our sites.

‘Therefore being involved with Portsmouth City Council to gain this accreditation was a progressive step for us as an organisation in the UK.

‘The well-being journey for us as an organisation, has always been to support our employees in their own journeys inside and outside of work.

‘Our well-being commitment to our employees is not just about organisational policy, it’s about listening to our employees and supporting them with local health and well-being issues and issues that they feel passionately about, for example mental health awareness, activate for life assistance, fundraising for charities in the local area, signposting on cancer awareness, plus more.’

Teleplan UK was awarded the Workplace Well-being Charter last month following the council’s rigorous assessment.
