Signs Express, in Walton Road, Farlington, is up for the Customer Service award in the 2016 British Franchise Association HSBC Franchisee of the Year Awards.

Jane Wiles and Ray Allenby moved to Portsmouth to take over the business in 2015. They quickly recognised that a focus on customer service was critical to turning the business around.

They have increased turnover by 125 per cent compared to the same period in 2014, the best percentage growth rate in the entire Signs Express network.

Jane said: ‘Relocating to a new city to take over Signs Express Portsmouth was an incredibly daunting experience, so we are honoured to be nominated for such a prestigious customer service award that recognises the work we have put in to making the business a true success story.’

The BFA recognises the UK’s most exceptional operators in a range of categories, for their business growth and development, service excellence and ethical franchising practice.

Winners will be named at a black-tie ceremony on Thursday, September 29 at Birmingham Town Hall.
