THE Solent Local Enterprise Partnership is gearing up for its official launch on Tuesday at Southampton Cruise Terminal.

It was the first LEP to have its board elected.

At Tuesday’s launch, the new board will introduce themselves to the Solent business community and there will be opportunities for delegates to ask them questions.

There will also be an opportunity for attendees to offer their own views on the challenges the Solent economy faces and the priorities the Solent LEP should focus attention on.

The new Solent Apprentices for Business scheme will also be announced at the event.

Key note speakers include Doug Morrison, Solent LEP chairman, and David Dingle, the chief executive officer of Carnival UK.

In anticipation of the event, Mr Morrison, said: ‘It is a real landmark in the development of the LEP.

‘The event will give us the opportunity to introduce ourselves to the Solent business community and, just as importantly, it will give the Solent business community the opportunity to introduce themselves to us.’
