THE Love Southsea Market is on the move.

For the past 18 months the market has been in the Square Tower, Old Portsmouth, selling a range of produce from local traders in the historic building, including arts and crafts, vintage clothes, jewellery and antiques.

But now organisers are announcing that the market’s new permanent pitch for future events will be Palmerston Road precinct, Southsea.

The event will be held in the precinct on the first Sunday of every month, with the last event at the Square Tower taking place this Sunday.

Louise Whitmore, from Love Southsea, said: ‘We have spoken to many of the shops in the precinct and they’re welcoming the venue switch with open arms.

‘The market is the one and only market for Southsea’s locals full of local traders.

‘It will hopefully be a great asset to Palmerston Road and the surrounding area and bring even more life into the already bustling shopping centre of Southsea.’

She added: ‘We would like to say a huge thanks and good-bye to the Square Tower.’

This Sunday’s market is open from 11am to 3pm, in the Square Tower, Old Portsmouth.

There will also be a Teddy Bear’s Picnic at the market from 11am to midday with honey sandwiches and lemonade, games and a prize for the best dressed teddy.

And as always there will be an array of local sellers and a vintage tearoom.
