Southsea’s newest burger bar to open its doors – with 40 per cent discount
THERE’S something for everyone – that’s the message from the owner of Southsea’s newest and coolest burger bar.
Burgerz n Brewz opens its doors in Osborne Road tonight at 5pm – and it is offering 40 per cent off tonight and tomorrow.
The restaurant is the second venture for the team behind Bangerz n Brewz, a hot dog venue in Victoria Road South.
Weeks of hard work has been put into the new venue to get it ready.
Co-owner James Stone said: ‘It’s looking amazing. We are really happy with it. Everything has come along really well. It’s been tough and there’s been lots of early mornings and late nights but it is looking great.
‘It is exactly why we like using local people, as they have all worked so hard and pulled together to get everything done in time.’
Burgerz n Brewz held a special preview event on Saturday, with guests invited along for special tastings.
James said: ‘We’ve been working hard to create our menu – working with chefs from as far away as America. They were all blown away by the menu. We invited suppliers, bakers and butchers along too and they all thought it was amazing.’
The menu sees a range of burgers, from classic American style to British flavours, with options such a a BLT and a huge burger called the Undertaker for the hungry.
They have also created an extensive vegan and vegetarian range.
James said: ‘We are proud of our vegan and veggie range. It means everybody gets the same amount of options.’
The restaurant has hired a team of 11 – with the head chef from Bangerz n Brewz Pete Hooky taking on the role of general manager.
The business has opened in the unit formerly occupied by Cheese & Cheers.
James added: ‘We think that Osborne Road is going to become a city hotspot this summer. There are some great independent guys here, we are really excited.’
