Ash Patterson, general manager of the Scarlet Tap, said: ‘It’s been an exciting time at the Scarlet Tap and we can’t wait to welcome the people of Southsea so they can try the new pub for themselves.’

Customers of the new pub will be able to choose from seven craft beers that include Blue Moon, Gamma Ray and Sam Adam’s Lager or four craft ciders such as Lilley’s and Orchard Thieves.

The pub will also serve three ales on rotation, starting with Sharp’s Doom Bar, Fuller’s London Pride and Ringwood Razorback before updating the selection with the season.

There will also be a selection of gins, with more than 20 blends stocked, ranging from Gordon’s and Tanqueray to Sipsmith and Pinkster.

Punters will also be able to watch sporting fixtures on a large projector and 11 plasma TVs.

The food menu will see sourdough pizzas, burgers, pub classics and small plates.
