A TEAM of staff from a Southern Electric office, took a day out to help sort stock for a hospice charity.

Workers from the Penner Road office, in Penner Road, Havant, spent a day at The Rowans Hospice’s Processing Centre in Farlington.

Volunteers were able to do this as part of the company’s Community at Heart scheme, which gives members of staff a day away from the office every year to help causes in the communities in which they live and work.

Lisa Kempsford, a customer service team manager, who volunteered her time, said: ‘It’s great to see how a charity works behind their image, especially such a valuable one.

‘I really enjoyed chatting to the volunteers that work there every day.

‘It gave me an incredible feeling knowing that we had helped with such a good project.’
