CHILDREN are being warned not to play on building sites.

With the summer holidays well under way, housebuilder David Wilson Homes is warning youngsters to stay away from its construction sites.

The company is currently working on the Hambleside development in Whiteley.

Dave McClintock, construction director at the firm, said: ‘Youngsters are often on the lookout for somewhere new and exciting to play, and although building sites may appear like a giant adventure playground, they are in fact, dangerous places, where accidents can happen.

‘Our construction teams watch out for youngsters while they are working and we secure our sites when we finish for the day. As the school holidays are with us again, it is important to remind children and their parents about the potential dangers of building sites and the need to stay away from them.’

The firm works closely with local schools and community groups around housing developments, organising regular talks and visits to sites to educate children about the potential dangers.
