Still time to have your say over the future of Portsmouth Victoria Park

FAMILIES still have time to have their say over the future of Portsmouth's Victoria Park.

The council is seeking views about its future as part of a six-week consultation into the city centre’s most prominent green space.

An action plan has been developed which looks at ideas for this much-loved park, including a new home for birds and animals, a petting zoo, improvements to paths, 24-hour access, and facilities for adults with learning disabilities.

With 15 acres of green space and mature trees there’s currently a play park, fountain, bird aviary and animal enclosure, and a privately run venue The Arts Lodge.

Residents can feedback their views on the action plan, and the
council’s cabinet will consider recommendations at a meeting in December.

The consultation into the plans finishes on Friday, November 11.

Councillor Donna Jones, leader of Portsmouth City Council, said: ‘This is a really exciting time for the city centre’s most beautiful and unique green space and I’d like to encourage as many people as possible to take part.’
