Stormy weather brought an unexpected visitor to Portsmouth yesterday in the form of luxury cruise ship.

The vessel, called Sea Cloud II, arrived at Portsmouth International Port on Tuesday morning as a result of the bad conditions.

Captain Rupert Taylor, harbour master at the port, said: ‘The unscheduled arrival of Sea Cloud II at Portsmouth International Port, due to unseasonably stormy weather conditions, goes to prove how responsive and ‎flexible our operation is. With little notice we were able to arrange everything needed to get passengers ashore, in time to make essential coach connections.

‘Sea Cloud II is a stunning vessel, and one that has visited the Port before on a scheduled visit.’
