Strong start for high street music retailer

MUSIC retailer Musicroom has reported a strong start to 2016, including a 12-per-cent sales growth in April across its stores nationwide.

Musicroom secured strong sales throughout the January – May period, with the local store in Portsmouth thriving.

The figures showed that shoppers in the Portsmouth area are continuing to support their high-street and are choosing to turn to their stores for inspiration and advice.

The success is partly attributed to the improved gift range, which has expanded and now features many more gift choices.

The offering has proved a hit with customers, which has been reflected with a 128 per cent sales increase from last year.

Director Alan Hunt said: ‘We’re pleased with the response from our customers to our latest product ranges.

‘It’s great to see that customers like to use their local high street and are continuing to stay loyal to their own towns and cities.

‘And more than that, it’s fantastic that people are continuing to pick up instruments, learning to play and enjoying creating music.’
