STAFF at Stubbington Ark have dismissed rumours the animal shelter is at risk of closure.

But an appeal for more funds has been launched to ensure its work continues.

It comes after rumours surfaced on Facebook that it was closing and staff would lose their jobs.

In a statement to The News, an Ark spokesman said: ‘We are not closing our doors.

‘We are currently looking into new ways to raise more money for Stubbington Ark.

‘If anyone has any fundraising ideas, or time to help at a fundraising event, we would like to hear from them.’

The charity relies on donations, even though it is part of the national charity the RSPCA.
