Students are locked into shopping centre

A lock-in event was held at Portsmouth’s Cascades Shopping Centre last month, giving them the chance to take advantage of discounts while enjoying entertainment.

The free night was put on following the success of the centre’s annual fresher’s week student event.

‘We had some brilliant entertainment in the centre to make sure everyone had a great time,’ said Cascades centre director, Rhoda Joseph.

‘A DJ provided music, we also had a giant deckchair, Capital FM’s Capital Pong game and a number of different activities in stores.

‘As this was our first spring lock-in, we weren’t sure how many students to expect.

‘But we had a really broad range of shoppers, from across the region and some from even further afield.’
