Students find business advice by Googling

STUDENTS have swapped their college for the Google campus to get business advice and inspiration.

The Highbury College enterprise society students travelled to Google’s business community base in East London where they met fellow student entrepreneurs from across the UK.

The college’s enterprise society – Collective Futures – was created in October and aims to give students the business skills to progress into work or create their own business. It has been supported by Nacue, a national organisation that helps enterprise societies.

Wendy Funnell, Highbury’s head of entrepreneurship said: ‘The day enabled the students to plan the coming year using tasks prepared by Nacue, which has been integral to kick-starting Collective Futures.

‘The students were great ambassadors for Highbury as they got stuck into the challenges during the day, including the opportunity to network with the 15 other colleges that attended.’
