Students to sell their wares at enterprise day

ENTERPRISING students will be taking their first steps in business this weekend, as Cascades Shopping Centre plays host to the annual Social Enterprise and Business Challenge trading day.

More than 150 Year 9 students are taking part in the challenge run by Portsmouth charity Faith and Football, which tasks the students with creating a retail business that generates an income.

All profits made go back to the charity to support the work it does in India, Africa and the UK.

Winners of the challenge receive a trip to India where they can see first-hand how their hard work benefits those less fortunate.

The students will be trading in Cascades on Saturday.

Centre director Rhoda Joseph, said: ‘We love having the students in Cascades.

‘It’s fantastic to see so many different, creative products being sold.

‘This is the sixth year we’ve hosted the trading day in the centre and each year we get a great response from our shoppers.’

Charity founder Mick Mellows said: ‘They’re champing at the bit to get to the centre.’
