Young hair stylist Molly Caswell is launching her first salon and barber shop with her mum Hazel Brownley.

The venture, which will see Molly’s name above the door, fulfils a lifelong dream for the 22-year-old from North End and the pair hope to bring something new to the high street.

The family-run business, at 148 London Road, North End, will bring together stylists with a range of skills.

Molly specialises in barbering and more modern women’s looks, while Hazel will offer customers vintage dos including rolls and waves of the 1940s, ‘big hair’ looks of the 1980s, perms and coloured rinses.

Men and women will also be able to have their hair coloured, cut-and-blow dried and styled in the luxurious yet relaxed and rustic setting.

They will also have a children’s play area for their younger customers and hope to host knitting and crochet groups and hold children’s craft workshops.

Molly, who completed her training at Highbury College and has five years’ hairdressing experience, said: ‘I always thought I would love to be my own boss but to put it into action was a big step.

‘My mum and I share similar ideas which made her the perfect business partner. We hope to create a salon like no other.

‘Combining both my mum’s and my experience is awesome in every way.

‘I love the barbering side of my profession.

‘I have a real interest in men’s barbering, short hair and wacky colours.

‘My mum, on the other hand, is more of a classic lady, but believe me she has a creative edge about her.

‘I am 22 and I feel I have already achieved a massive amount with the help of my friends, family and clients. I would never have done it without their support.’

Hazel, 45, from North End, who has more than 30 years’ experience since training with Toni and Guy in 1985, added: ‘I’m really looking forward to supporting my daughter in bringing something different to North End.

‘I’m excited about bringing back some old styles and mixing older techniques with new trends.
