AN IT firm is planning its next fundraiser – in aid of a charity that helps support bereaved parents.
Silver Lining Convergence, in Whiteley, is helping The Beau Halo Trust to put on its first summer ball in 2017.
An Alice in Wonderland-themed ball will be held at The Solent Hotel in Whiteley on June 10.
Staff at the IT and telecoms company are busy planning the event, in order to raise as much as they can for the cause.
The trust was founded by Hannah Henriques, from Fareham, whose three-year-old daughter Beau died in June 2015. Hannah was shocked at the lack of support she received so she set up the trust to help other bereaved parents.
Kristieanne Gibbs, marketing manager, said: ‘Last year we were introduced to the trust as it was trying to reach charity status. Hannah’s late daughter Beau – after whom the trust is named – sadly suffered from a congenital heart defect. She was treated in Southampton General Hospital’s Ocean Ward.
‘Silver Lining provide free Wi-Fi and smart TVs to the ward, in an effort to enrich the lives of children during long stays.
‘A staff member previously worked at the school Beau attended, and thus Hannah’s heart-breaking story was brought to our attention.’
Hannah said: ‘In order for us to have charity status we needed £5,000 to register with the Charity Commission.
‘This is where Silver Lining has helped incredibly, they have helped us with the set-up of graphic design, web design and donating money to reach our target.
‘They have been amazing, they have been so supportive of our aims and the services that we want to provide.’
Silver Lining’s managing director Allan Packer said: ‘We are greatly supporting The Beau Halo’s Summer Ball – Beau Beyond the Looking Glass. This will be organised during work time utilising a number of company resources to put together brochures, menus, flyers, sponsorship packages and table booking.
‘We are hoping the ball to be a sell-out.’
The ball will see a three-course meal, music from Cordelectra, a charity auction and more. Tickets cost £60. To buy them call 0845 3131111 or email email@example.com
All proceeds will go to the trust. Silver Lining has won awards for its community work and was named Community Contribution of the Year at The News Business Excellence Awards in 2016.
